Pups at the Park
Does your pup love to play with other four-legged friends? Maybe you got a quarantine pup that needs some socialization. Or perhaps you’re just not sure how your pup interacts with other dogs?
Here at Berkshire Pup People, we love to play and meet other pups (and humans) who feel the same. That’s why we’re headed to the North Adams dog park Sundays from 1 - 2pm (ish)! Why don’t you meet us there?
1st + 3rd Sundays
Safety Precautions
Let’s be honest here, there is nothing scarier than a dog fight. That’s why we’re implementing some ground rules.
First off, know your pup! If your pup loves everyone and everything it’s ever met, great! Even better if they have the impulse control to not charge every other dog they meet. However, if you know (or suspect) your dog may not be the most polite about greetings, come prepared and respect that not all pups are social butterflies. (Cue hard stare at Leroy….)
Secondly, all pups must arrive on a 6-foot, non-retractable leash. These types of leads give you the most control should something go awry. However, feel free to bring a longer or different lead with you too if you like to train with one. We also suggest training treats!
Perhaps most importantly, practice common sense and be kind. We’re all here for the love of our pups, and we’re doing our best to keep everyone safe. Just like humans, sometimes dogs don’t like each other or don’t want to play. Respect your dog’s boundaries and those of others. Know the warning signs and be aware of your pup’s body language. Our staff will be on hand to help facilitate safe greetings and play, so ask questions if you’ve got ‘em!
Finally, clean up after your pup. The dog park sometimes has poop bags and receptacles available, but don’t count on it. Because the park is a community resource, we ask that everyone bring poop bags and the like.
